π I've written hundreds of stories and interviewed as many people and if I didn't know it before, I know it now: everyone has a story and you can learn something from everyone.
Getting to the crux of that story and giving people the platform to tell it is one of my favorite things in the world. I don't believe in the expression "giving a voice to the voiceless," because everyone has a voice; it's just a matter of amplifying those voices and waking audiences up.
That's where I come in. π©π»βπ» With my extensive journalism π° and tech π» background, I have a proven track record for telling stories that break the mold and stand out in a competitive content ecosystem. Though my work β which spans digital journalism, social media, marketing, UX writing, and other editorial projects β touches a variety of topics, I'm especially passionate about creating valuable content and digital experiences for minoritized groups, as well as creating content that focuses on books and travel. ππ
I currently work at Meta, developing content strategy for several social channels, including the @threads Threads and Instagram accounts, and working with partners to develop quality social storytelling that resonates. Before Meta, I worked at NewsBreak, where I ran our contributor network program β a role that focuses on content policy, program and project management, recruiting, marketing, and community management.
I was previously an editorial curation project manager at Twitter and a senior reporter for Business Insider's Voices of Color section. My work has been been published by NBCNews.com, Harper's Bazaar, HuffPost, Forbes, The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Rewire, and more, and I was recently recognized on Hispanic Executiveβs 30 Under 30 list for my work in media.
I love finding ways to share stories in different formats and on numerous platforms to expand our audience. In an effort to make sure people are getting access to vital and relevant information, I've spoken on various TV/radio shows and podcasts about my stories, including NBC, ESPN, and NPR and CBS affiliates.
As social media and information ecosystems evolve, I'm interested in opportunities that bridge my passion for storytelling, leadership, and emerging tech. If you would like to collaborate, please get in touch! Iβm also open to freelance journalism and content writing opportunities.
Beyond my professional life, I'm the proud caretaker of a way-too-energetic two-year-old puppy named Paloma πΆ, an avid runner, and a fried chicken sandwich fiend.
